"Auckland City engaged New River to undertake this important CBD user research because the proposal was innovative, the methodology comprehensive and the focus was on providing strategic and practical recommendations. The results lived up to expectations. The city obtained a good understanding of how, when and by whom the CBD is used; how people rate the CBD; and what factors drive their levels of enjoyment. The research results have since been used as input into multiple projects and initiatives. Examples include the development of the CBD strategy, Auckland's CBD Into the Future, planning for a residential and an arts/entertainment quarter within the CBD, developing a public activity plan, and planning for major streetscape upgrades."
